Watch the news and it can sometimes be difficult to get a clear picture of a compassionate world. One review of 2018 and it could look like a world in disarray. Will 2019 be more of the same?
Or will an undercurrent reverse the cycles and begin to deliver other, more positive news?
"Though it may seem like the world is falling apart, we are actually living in a very special
time of global transformation." -Penney Peirce, from Transparency: Seeing Through to Our Expanded Human Capacity.
Penney Peirce explains in her book Transparency that we are entering a time where what has been hidden will no longer be able to remain hidden.
It was as if she foreshadowed what was to come.
Transparency in the world?
The word "transparency" was a trending word of 2018. Almost every news broadcast used the word. Although, Penney's book was titled 'Transparency' some time before 2018.
The very weekend Penney's book was released in October 2017, the Harvey Weinstein news broke. The entertainment industry and the horrors of abuse were shared for all to see.
It's not that there was anything new because Weinstein's patterns had been going on for years. It was becoming widely exposed.
Then, the rest of the year stories of hidden abuse continued to rise to the surface. From U.S. Olympic athletes abused by the team physician to young boys and men abused by priests or coaches--it was in the news cycles for all of us to see.
Since her book went to print:
-U.S. Olympics doctor sentenced for years of abuse as the girls came forward.
-Bill Cosby sentenced after women came forward.
-Harvey Weinstein and his wider web of influence in the entertainment industry became visible.
It wasn't only women, it was happening to men and young boys, too.
"Bishops and other leaders in Roman Catholic Church in PA cover up cover up of child sexual abuse by more than 300 priests over 70 years, persuading victims not to report the abuse and law enforcement not to investigate it," according to grand jury issued report (described as one of the broadest examinations by a government agency in U.S. of child sexual abuse in the Catholic Church).
“Despite some institutional reform, individual leaders of the church have largely escaped public accountability,” the grand jury wrote. “Priests were raping little boys and girls, and the men of God who were responsible for them not only did nothing; they hid it all. For decades.
A divided nation.
Then there is the political landscape of the U.S. which has escalated into what seems to be the greatest divide ever. Identities are built around beliefs. It's hard to change either.
"The unseen and the seen always parallel each other. As evolution and transformation streamline, you and your life go through frequency-matching jumps or revisions." --Penney Peirce
We are moving into a time of transparency--in self, the nation, and world.
It's happening all around the world, too.
Corruption in governments around the world is not anything new. Follow the organization Transparency International as it works toward anti-corruption around the world.
Expect the global corruption to become more exposed. Money laundering will be breaking more into the headlines. The global grip of dark money is not new. It will be brought to light.
As the world of dark money and global corruption become more exposed in the coming weeks/months/years, so too does the world of Light become more visible.
In other news around the world
Meanwhile, there are some other thing happening around the world.
"For the last 12 months, the global media has been focused on a lot of bad news. But there were other things happening out there too: conservation successes, huge wins for global health, more peace and tolerance, less war and violence, rising living standards, some big clean energy milestones, and a quiet turning of the tide in the fight against plastic. Stories of human progress, that didn’t make it into the evening broadcasts, or onto your social media feeds":
"We are moving from the Information Age to the Intuition Age and right now we’re experiencing the early signs of this sweeping change." --Penney Peirce
The sweeping changes were all visible for us to see in 2018. If Penney Peirce's accuracy over the past year of what ''transparency'' means (not to mention it was the word of the day/week/year) ... are we, in fact, moving from the Information Age to the Intuition Age?
